Have you ever had a friend that you keep contact with sparingly, but when you really need a person, they are there when you need them most?
I have a friend like that.
Troy Smith -- former football player, youth pastor, writer, Ph.D. candidate, friend extraordinaire -- has been my friend for nearly three years. We've kept in touch sporadically, but whenever I've needed his prayers (and I needed them this year), he was right there.
I'm not one for sentimentality or nostalgia, but I just wanted to extend gratitude to a man who truly allows the Lord's love to shine through him.
Keep going, man. God has great plans for your life.
