so we went to chick-fil-a today: dad, mark, and me. we drove all the way out past hanbury road in chesapeake (virginia -- that's where i live). the first thing dad says when we get in the car is, "you're gonna have to go dutch because i only have money for myself." duh. dad. i always buy my food when it comes to lunch.
we ate in a hybrid booth: half table, half booth. i sat next to mark, and we saw some things today that were laughable as well as slightly pitiful.
the manager at the restaurant had a platinum blonde mullet. the crown of her head was about an inch long and the rest was long (about shoulder length) and thinned out to resemble joan jett's mullet on her music video, "i love rock and roll."
then, we saw a young couple (heterosexual) walk up in total emo garb: tight jeans, ill fitting hoodies with bright colors juxtaposed against a mass of black, and crazy non normal hair colors in their seventies inspired shags. Ai! dad thought it was hilarious.
we left soon after, but we make a really cool looking family.
imagine this: three people walk into a restaurant. all of them are blonde with light eyes. all of them are over six feet tall. and, all of us walk tall and confident in our scandinavian heritage. cool, huh. did i also mention i was wearing my hippie clothes?
i enjoy my family to the fullest that i am humanly capable.
